Product Features

Polyester color fixing agent KF-4360 is a newly developed cationic color fixing agent for disperse dyestuff, which can effectively improve the sublimation fastness and washing fastness of polyester fibers; it has little effect on the color and light of fabrics; and it has the function of improving the handfeel.

Application

It can be used for the color fixing treatment of pure polyester, T/C and CVC fabrics.

Dosage: 10-25 g/L for dipping and rolling method.

Fixing temperature: 150℃-180℃×30-45S

Fixing Agent

A textile fixative is a chemical additive used in the post-treatment of dyed or printed fabrics. Its primary function is to improve the fastness of dyes on the fabric, preventing color fading during subsequent use due to washing, friction, or exposure to sunlight.

There are three main mechanisms by which it works:

1) Film-forming sealing: 

Forms a transparent film on the fiber surface to encapsulate the dye, preventing it from washing off and reducing color loss due to friction.
2) Color lake formation:

Utilizes ionic bonds to form water-insoluble precipitates within the fiber from water-soluble dyes (such as direct dyes and reactive dyes), thereby reducing the risk of color loss during washing.
3) Cross-linking fixation:

Acts as a "bridge" connecting dye and fiber molecules, allowing the dye to bind more firmly to the fiber.

Common color fixatives are broadly classified into the following categories based on their chemical properties:

Cationic: The most common type. It uses positive charges to adsorb anionic dyes, making it suitable for direct and acid dyes; however, some products may contain formaldehyde.
Reactive (formaldehyde-free): Contains reactive groups that form strong covalent bonds with both dyes and fibers. This is currently the mainstream option; it is formaldehyde-free and is primarily used for reactive dyes where high colorfastness is required.
Fastness-enhancing type: Typically special polyurethane or silicone compounds, these are primarily designed to improve the wet rub fastness of reactive dyes, addressing the issue of color bleeding in dark fabrics (such as deep black or navy blue) when exposed to water.
